Thankyou for your co-operation.

Hospital Referrals:  How long will I wait and how can I change this?

Our team are overwhelmed by requests to expedite hospital appointments.  We are sorry, but Chafford Hundred Medical Centre cannot change the waiting times at the hospitals and cannot respond to the volume of requests we receive to do so.

You can contact the service provider you have been referred to please note that they might also not be able to shorten the current waiting time.  Please contact the relevant department at that hospital or clinic using the numbers they have given on their letters.

Or you can contact the hospital’s Patient Advice & Liaison Service.

Please note that many of these referral times refer to the times AFTER you have been triaged by a triage service (outside of general practice).  Triage services have waits too.

The NHS Trust has set up triage services to review GP referrals before putting them forward to the appointment queues.  This includes:

  • Cardiology
  • All 2 Week Wait referrals
